Hu Haiyan earned her undergraduate degree from Shanghai Second Medical University, now Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and completed doctoral and postdoctoral study at the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine. She also conducted postdoctoral research in physiology in Bern, Switzerland, and holds a diploma from the University of Geneva’s French department. She has worked in medical research, writing and translation, and Chinese-language teaching in Switzerland, the United States, and Geneva. Fluent in English and French, she teaches English, life science, and medicine at Qingjin Academy.
