Song Jinchao is director of the Xiangyang Folk Literature Research Institute, deputy director of the Baokang County Cultural Center, and chair of the county folk-literature and art association. He belongs to national and provincial folk-art, drama, reportage, cultural, historical, and visual-art organizations and has received provincial model-worker recognition, a municipal government allowance, and an award for outstanding contributions to public culture in Baokang County. Born in Songjiawan Village, Maliang Town, Baokang County, in 1963, he edited and published the complete Epic of Darkness through Changjiang Literature and Art Publishing House. Since 2022, he has repeatedly taught the Epic of Darkness and folk culture to students at Spring Valley Academy and EWIP.
