Yang Liang teaches physics. He graduated from a junior-college law program and worked in law for many years. Through independent study, he passed China’s national computer software proficiency examination and qualified as a software engineer. He previously led the research and development department at Xi’an Dingyan Intelligent Instruments and is credited with one invention patent and one utility-model patent. He received a third prize in the Shaanxi Science and Technology Progress Awards and a second prize in the Xi’an Science and Technology Progress Awards. From 2017 to 2019, he completed the Ladder Program for Waldorf high-school teacher training initiated by Spring Valley Academy and other schools, studying with the American physicist and educator Micheal D’Aleo and learning his perception-based approach to physics teaching. He later led the initial renovation project at Xi’an Ziyu Primary School, taught science at Doukou Learning Center, taught physics part-time in Ziyu Primary School’s upper grades, led the Doukou community, and founded the Doukou Sensory Experience Center.
