Yang Zhengrong teaches life science. He holds a doctorate and studied computer science and biomedicine at Southeast University. From 2004 to 2018, he worked as a researcher at the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, studying graphics processing and affective neuroscience. As a young person, he was captivated by Erwin Schrödinger’s What Is Life?, which opened a door onto the world for him; the mysteries of life remained central as he entered university and scientific research. Through a choreography course taught by Wang Jiawei at the School of Dance of Nanjing University of the Arts, he also developed interdisciplinary teaching and an approach in which thinking arises through interaction. He hopes to connect this experience with the intuitive thinking cultivated in Waldorf secondary education and bring it into bodily processes. He attended Spring Valley Academy’s full-time training program in 2018 and has taught the EWIP life-science main lesson since graduating.
